How we use computers on LAN in school
In our classroom, we use computers to work and study. All computers are in LAN and are connected with a principal server, which we can get excercises and study stuff from. In each classroom, there is an important computer, the teacher’s computer. On that computer, they can show their screen on the wall to teach us better.
In our school, there is a secretaries’ office. In that room, I think they use the computers to record data on the databases, so the headmaster can get all the information about students thanks to the LAN. So, the headmaster uses his computer to create reports and view information about all of us.

Description of the LAN
This LAN connects receptionists, doctors, and the practice manager in a health centre. It also connects the centre with the local health board. There's a computer in each consulting room, the doctor use the computer for information about medicines, they also use to connect with other hospitals, they also use PC for email connection to hospitals, other practices, and the local health board. There is a PC in each consulting room and another in the practise manager room and in the reception. There there is also a server and two printers, a laser one and a dot-matrix one.
The receptionits use the PC mainly for appoiments, the doctors use it to get drugs information, to write, to check and to save patients records and for prescriptions.
All of them use the PC for surfing the web and send email to hospital, other practices and the local health board.

Pen drives
Pen drives are very common. You can use it for storing data. They are removable drivers, you can remove them from the computer and carry them wherever you want. So it's so easy carry them because they are so small that you can save in your pocket. Nowadays, they have a large capacity like 8GB and higher. the relation between price/capacity is very acceptable. They are chepeast.
We need a new printer
Jason:
I need to printer with the best quality. The price doesn't matter. What kind of printer should I buy?
- You need a mono laser printer because it's the printer with the highest quality. The price is more expensive than other printers, but it doesn't matter you said.
Claire:
I need to print really fast. I’m not going to use colour or images. Shall I buy an inkjet printer?
- You shouldn't because it's slower than laser printers. You should buy a laser printer because it's faster than an inkjet printer
